Muhammad was apparently born in 570 in Mecca, Arabia. He was a social, political, and religious leader as well as the founder of Islam. He had a profound spiritual experience when he was 40 years old and he started teaching in 613. After converting most of the Arabian peninsula to Islam he fell ill and apparently died in 632. His style is intense and devotional.


Jalaladin Rumi

Jalaladin Rumi was apparently born on September 30th, 1207 in Balkh (now Afghanistan). He was a poet, Islamic scholar, and mystic. He apparently died at the age of 66 in Konya (now Turkey). His style is artistic and devotional.


Ibn Arabi

Ibn Arabi was apparently born on July 26th, 1165 in Murcia, Spain. He was a mystic, philosopher and poet and many muslims considered him to be one of the greatest teachers. He died in Damascus on the 8th of November, 1240 at the age of seventy five.
